The Jake Paul circus was in Dallas on Saturday, as “The Problem Child” — presumably named due to his tendency to give aging, undersized MMA fighters problems in boxing — was set to face off with none other than Nate Diaz.

In a fight co-promoted by Paul’s Most Valuable Promotion and Diaz’s own Real Fight Inc., the best that could be said of the build-up was that nothing overly ridiculous had happened. Sure, Diaz bounced out of a press conference and head-to-head interview, but Nate Diaz has never exactly been Mr. Reliable. And it was almost humorous to see the notoriously volatile fighter, known for trash talking throughout his fights, refuse to take the bait from Paul all throughout Fight Week.

A brief scuffle at Thursday’s press conference aside, the build-up to Paul vs. Diaz had been almost orderly, and almost certainly was not what Jake Paul had hoped for when he signed up for a fight with Diaz.

With Paul looking to bounce back from a loss to Tommy Fury — a boxer with a padded record, but a boxer nonetheless — Saturday was key for the Youtube star. For Diaz, it amounted to a paycheck; he still had a number of lucrative fights to look forward to in MMA. Which might explain the lack of promotion on Diaz’s part.

In addition to Paul vs. Diaz, Saturday offered a rematch between Amanda Serrano and Heather Hardy — though with Hardy having fought for Bellator in the past and Serrano just announcing a new deal with the PFL, this fight might have been more interesting had it come in the cage.

The preliminary portion of Saturday’s card gets underway at 6:15PM ET on ESPN+ and DAZN. The PPV then kicks off on those same platforms at 8PM ET, with the main card fighters expected to make the walk some time around 11PM. Full results can be found below.
