Bruna Brasil Admits She Felt Pressure Going Into Bannon Bout, Didn’t Like ‘6-0’ Post

London, UK – UFC strawweight Bruna Brasil picked up a big win at UFC London over newcomer Shauna Bannon on Saturday night, but admits she was nervous going into enemy territory at The O2 Arena.

“(I) felt pressure after (my) debut. This was good for (me) because (I) was wanting to prove (myself) and showed what (I) showed here,” Brasil told reporters including Cageside Press at her post-fight scrum on Saturday.

Brasil (9-3) was coming off a loss to Denise Gomes in her UFC debut in Kansas City in April before she landed the Bannon fight. Taking a bout against a UFC newcomer is one thing, but taking it in what could be considered her backyard is quite another.

“(I) was prepared for the war so (I) gave everything inside. (I) knew that Shauna would show out strength, power, so (I) did everything,” she said.

There wasn’t a lot of heat in the fight coming into UFC London except for one post that Brasil took exception to.

“The only thing that (I) found, (I) didn’t like, when Shauna posted ‘6-0’. That she’s 5-0 and she posted 6-0. Not this time,” Brasil said.

In terms of what’s next for the victorious strawweight Brasil is down for anyone, anywhere, anytime.

“I’m ready whatever UFC decides. I’ll go back, train, and I’ll be ready for the next one,” she said.
