Caio Borralho Trained With Chimaev, Costa, And Strickland For UFC Vegas 72 Co-Main Fight

Las Vegas, NV – Fighters say they’ve trained hard, and kept themselves out of the comfort zone, but most don’t do it at the level that UFC middleweight Caio Borralho did for his co-main bout at UFC Vegas 72

“I’m never in the comfort zone. There’s no money on this earth that’s going to make me just be comfortable,” Borralho told reporters on Wednesday.

“I went to train with Khamzat (Chimaev), I went to train with Paulo Costa, I went to train with Sean Strickland, all the good guys. I know I’m ready.”

Borralho (13-1) went to train with high-level middleweights and it’s for a good reason. His opponent at UFC Vegas 72 is former light heavyweight and heavy-handed Michal Oleksiejczuk.

“I think he’s a very dangerous opponent, as all the other guys in the world are very dangerous. He likes to box, but he’s very technical boxing, a technical brawler if I can say (it) like that,” Borralho said.

“I think it’s a good matchup because he’s coming from two knockouts in the first round. I’m coming from three great wins. I think it’s a good fight to crack ourselves in the rankings after this fight.”

Borralho entered the UFC with high expectations, and now riding a three-fight win streak, he feels he’s still on track to get high in the rankings.

“I’m very with my feet down on earth. I know where I am right now, and I know what I need to do to be where I want to be. So I’m not doing anything different,” he said.

“I’m getting more money maybe, but training even harder. I’m using this money to hire good guys to put (me) in discomfort all the time.”
