UFC San Antonio: Nate Landwehr Loved War With Onama, But Looking To ‘Pitch Shutout’

San Antonio, TX – A short-notice change in opponents isn’t a problem for UFC featherweight Nate Landwehr who will lean on his experience against Austin Lingo at UFC San Antonio on Saturday night.

“Man I know he’s tough. I watched his fights, studied a little bit, switch up was two weeks ago, but I mean…this my 20th pro fight. 21st pro fight really. I’ve seen a lot,” Landwehr told reporters on Wednesday.

“He’s a banger. I’m a banger. He’s tough, I’m tough, we’re going to see who’s the real dog.”

The experience alone seems to be what keeps Landwehr relaxed in terms of dealing with a change in opponent just a couple weeks out of the fight.

“I’ve been doing it long enough that you’ll figure it all out in the first little sequence. First minute or so,” he said.

Last time fans saw Landwehr was in a three round war back in Aug. 2022 where he went toe-to-toe with David Onama and pulled off a majority decision victory.

“That’s my whole mindset this camp. I’ve got do better, I’ve got to one up it. I can’t let the last one be the best one. I’ve got to one up it baby,” said Landwehr.

Even if Landwerh enjoyed a war with Onama he said he will try to dominate against Lingo in San Antonio on Saturday.

“I’m (going) to try to pitch a shut out. Try to go out there and just dominate him. Get a finish. I want to finish this guy. I should have finished Onama. I was just having too much fun. I need a finish. I need to rack up finishes in the UFC,” he said.
