UFC Vegas 67: Roman Kopylov Looking For At Least 3 More Fights In 2023

Las Vegas, NV – After kicking his UFC career off with two losses UFC middleweight Roman Kopylov has now put together two consecutive finishes after defeating Punahele Soriano at UFC Vegas 67 on Saturday night.

Kopylov (10-2) finishes Soriano via second round TKO.

“This is exactly how I hope the fight would go. Very happy with the victory. Very happy with my performance, and we did exactly what we planned to,” Kopylov told Cageside Press among other media through a translator at his post-fight scrum.

Kopylov attacked Soriano up top with repeated shots to the head before moving to the body and finishing the fight with a devastating body kick that crumpled his opponent to the canvas.

“Yes that was exactly the game plan. My coach was in my ear. My coach said to keep working the head. Once he’s going to start covering up to keep going down, go to the body, go to the kicks, to the legs, so that’s exactly what I did,” Kopylov said.

Now that he’s put together two impressive finishes in a row Kopylov plans to get a few more fights in 2023.

“Yeah I’m very happy that the year started this way. Thank God we’re healthy. I have a couple of bruises, maybe a couple sore spots, but other than that I’m pretty healthy,” he said.

“I’d really like to have another 3-4 fights until the end of the year.”
