The UFC and other major promotions may have taken a short break, but that doesn’t mean MMA is dormant in the New Year. LFA 149 filled your MMA itch last night, but we’ve got even more action coming on the weekend. Cage Titans 57 comes your way from Plymouth, MA this Saturday, January 7th from the Plymouth Memorial Hall.
Closing out the card is UFC veteran and Ultimate Fighter finalist Joe Giannetti – defending his lightweight crown. After a short stint in the UFC, Giannetti has returned to the regional scene in hopes of getting back to the big show. He rides a 4-fight win streak into Saturday night, and one more might just do the trick. Currently he holds the 155lbs and 170lbs title for the organization, but he makes the drop down to his natural weight class for this defense.
Looking to thwart the party is Bellator and WSOF veteran, Saul Almeida. Almeida last fought in MMA back in 2019, when he took on UFC veteran Sean Soriano under the CES banner. He then took his talents to boxing for a short while. He’s detoured away from his boxing career tonight to take this highly-anticipated bout with Giannetti.
The card otherwise is dotted by five professional fights on the main card and nine amateur fights filling out the prelims. The entire Cage Titans 57 card can be see on Spectation Sports starting at 6pm EST. The main card gets started at 8:30pm EST.
