Tamires Vidal is coming off a victory in her LFA debut last March, and was signed to the UFC up front. With the UFC needing all the blood they can get at women’s bantamweight, there’s a good reason Vidal was signed. She’s set to fight Ramona Pascual (6-4, 0-2 UFC) who is still looking for her first UFC win at UFC Vegas 64.

How will Vidal do in the UFC:

The resume of Vidal does look pretty good. Her only loss is to UFC fighter Karol Rosa. She has wins over Queila Braga and Ailin Perez who is in the UFC. Saying that Vidal was losing to both ladies before she found the win. She caught Braga in a heel hook and only beat Perez cause of a DQ.

Vidal is a bad signing for the UFC not having anything to really offer. She’s got decent ground and pound and is strong in the clinch and that’s about all. Her footwork is flat-footed and tends to follow her opponent around. The striking is sloppy and wild. You’ll never see any technique but just overhands instead.

The ground game is where she wants to be it doesn’t help that her wrestling isn’t up to par. Her takedown defense hasn’t looked good and off her back there are problems. Honestly, there aren’t a lot of positives to point out with Vidal.

How she matches up against Pascual:

This fight is between two underwhelming fighters. Vidal has never looked UFC level and Pascual is riding a tough run. There could be a sloppy scrap that plays out as both tend to get hit a lot. Vidal is good in the clinch but Pascual is better. Vidal does well on top but I see Pasual being the one completing takedowns. I don’t like this fight but I think Pascual is better in every area.
