At UFC Vegas 62, Duško Todorović faced off with Jordan Wright in a bout that seemed unlikely to last long.

Duško had only gone past the second round once in his UFC career, and Wright had never gone past six minutes, neither in nor outside the UFC.

When Wright opened the fight with a big overhand, Todorović ducked under it and looked for a takedown. Wright was able to stuff it and gained the outside position in the clinch. Todorović looked for a potential guillotine but Wright turned the tabled and landed a takedown of his own, into top half guard. Eventually Todorović tried to use butterfly hooks to get space and after doing so he hunted for a leg lock, but Wright defended smartly as the pair scrambled. While Dusko held onto the leg, Wright slammed in big punches and seemed to hurt his opponent. Finally Duško got to his feet but Wright was able to use a single leg to take him back down. Wright locked up an arm triangle with a minute left but Todorovic escaped, only to be mounted. After going for another leg lock, Todorović got back to his feet and into the clinch, where he began to set up a guillotine attempt again. Todorović jumped the gilly but Wright’s head popped right out and the round promptly ended.

The second round began with Todorović more interested in striking. He landed some big shots to start, despite his wild, swarming technique. The pair were rock ’em sock ’em robots for the first minute. Wright went down and Duško swarmed him even harder. Wright appeared both tired and badly hurt as he attempted a double leg takedown. This time, Todorović defended it instead of looking for the guillotine and got back to hurting his opponent badly. Some of the biggest shots you will ever see cracked Wright but he refused to go down even as he stumbled around the octagon, trying to clinch up. Wright fell down after a failed takedown and Todorović got in full mount, pounding on his opponent badly. Finally, three minutes into round two, Todorović got the finish after almost non-stop punching for the entire round, from the start on the feet to the finish with ground and pound. The adjustment to abandon wrestling and choose violence was a smart one and he beat his opponent badly after losing the first round.

Official Result: Duško Todorović def. Jordan Wright by TKO (ground and pound), Round 2, 3:12
