A pair of former PFL standouts in Maxim Grishin and Philipe Lins were set to face off as part of the UFC Vegas 61 preliminary card, and later bumped to the main card.

As it turns out, however, Grishin vs. Lins would not happen at all.

During Saturday’s UFC Vegas 61 broadcast, promotion officials announced that a medical issue had caused the card to be shuffled, pushing Grishin vs. Lins to the main card to give one of the fighters more time to overcome the ailment. No such luck, as the fight was cancelled.

The nature of the medical issue in question was not revealed.

The light heavyweight affair had seen both fighters coming in off victories in their last outing.

As a result of the cancellation, UFC Vegas 61 wound up running with 11 fights. it’s the second hit for the Fight Night card, which also lost Jessica Penne vs. Tabatha Ricci prior to Friday’s official weigh-in.
