LFA 142 went down Friday, September 16, 2022 at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, Minnesota — and brought a women’s strawweight title fight to town.

In the main event, Canadian Ashley Nichols, who returned from over three years on the sidelines back February, faced off with undefeated Brazilian talent Jaqueline Amorim for the promotion’s 115lb championship. Amorim had won the belt one fight prior, submitting Loveth Youth via kneebar to claim gold.

For Nichols, the fight was a chance to both capture gold in a promotion many see as a feeder league to the UFC — and a chance to further the reputation of the surging Niagara Top Team, which of late has seen fighters find success in the UFC, Bellator MMA, and elsewhere.

An Amorim win would put her one step closer to the big show.

LFA 142, which airs live on Friday, September 16 on UFC Fight Pass, sees its main card get underway at 9PM ET. Full results from the event can be found below.
