Another boxing match, another former MMA champion for Jake Paul — only this time it’s one of the GOATs of the sport in Anderson Silva.

News of the match-up, which has been talked about and rumored for the better part of a year, was first reported by NoSmokeBoxing and then confirmed by TMZ.

The fight will be broadcast on Showtime PPV on October 29, 2022.

Paul (5-0 boxing) holds three wins over former MMA champions with one win over Ben Askren and two over Tyron Woodley. The Youtube creator was supposed to fight Tommy Fury earlier this month, only for Fury’s reputed ties to Irish mobster Daniel Kinahan render him unable to enter the United States.

Fury was then replaced by Hasim Rahman Jr., but Rahman appeared unable to make his contracted weight, and the fight was eventually pulled — scrapping the entire Madison Square Garden event.

Silva, 47, is coming off two boxing wins in 2021 with a split-decision win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and then knocking out former MMA champion Tito Ortiz in under two minutes.

No location or venue has been named for this event as of this posting. No other fights have been announced for the card, though there’s a good chance Amanda Serrano lands on it.
