After being pushed back from last week’s UFC Vegas 59 card, flyweights Ariane Lipski and Priscila Cachoeira faced off instead at UFC San Diego on Saturday — up a weight class.

Lipski and Cachoeira would throw down at bantamweight in San Diego, with both fighters coming in off wins. It didn’t take long for a statement to be made.

Almost off the opening bell, Lipski and Cachoeira began trading, Cachoeira the aggressor. Lipski tried to hold her own, returning fire, but while they mimicked a game of rock ’em, sock ’em robot, Cachoeira was landing the harder strikes. And landing more period. Soon enough, she dropped Lipski, who rolled to her side and covered up. The ref gave her a good long moment to try to defend, allowing Lipski to arguably take more damage than was really necessary. With Lipski unable to defend, he finally waved it off as Cachoeira rained down blow after blow on her fellow Brazilian.

Pushed back, but the fight was absolutely worth the wait. Cachoeira remains a scary prospect at flyweight — and at bantamweight, though she’s unlikely to stick around 135 pounds following Saturday, given the unique circumstances ahead of the bout.

Official Result: Priscila Cachoeira def. Ariane Lipski by TKO, Round 1, 1:05
