Bellator 284: Valentin Moldavsky Says He Must Beat Mowry, Then Fight Bader Again

Sioux Falls, SD – Bellator heavyweight Valentin Moldavsky is back after losing his bid to become the Bellator heavyweight champion against Ryan Bader. He returns at Bellator 284 on Friday night against Steve Mowry in an attempt to get back to a title shot.

Moldavsky (11-2) is part of the famous Fedor Team out of Russia led by MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko. Following the loss to Bader at Bellator 273 Fedor had some words for Moldavsky.

“He say I fight very bad,” Moldavsky told Cageside Press among other media on Wednesday. He laughed as he continued on.

“He said I must win more, not close, more powerful. I didn’t listen. That’s why he say I fight bad.”

Moldavsky takes on Mowry who sports an undefeated 10-0 record and now faces the #1 heavyweight in the division.

“He not lose, but he not fight with good fighter. I don’t see good fighter who he (beat). I think he don’t have opponent like me,” Moldavsky said.

Moldavsky did say that Mowry faced one good opponent in Gokhan Saricam, but he mentioned that Saricam is not a wrestler. Mowry defeated him via submission.

In the end his mind is focused on his opponent this Friday night.

“I think I must win now this fight with Mowry and then I think we must fight Bader again.”
