Fighters Only Announces Nominees for 14th Annual World MMA Awards

Voting for the 14th Annual World MMA Awards, presented by Fighters Only, is now live.

On Wednesday, nominations for this year’s awards, which will be presented at a date and venue to be determined, were announced. Fighters Only revealed the nominations in a press release; voting takes place via worldmmaawards.com and runs through September 30.

The nomination period covers July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022. Among the nominees, UFC champs Alexander Volkanovski, Charles Oliveira (technically now a former champion), and Francis Ngannou are up for Fighter of the Year, while Bellator’s Johnny Eblen and UFC lightweight Islam Makhachev are also in contention.

Female Fighter of the Year sees both Bellator and the PFL represented, with Cris Cyborg and Kayla Harrison in the running, alongside UFC stars Julianna Pena, Valentina Shevchenko, and Raquel Pennington.
