Arman Tsarukyan and Mateusz Gamrot were set to headline UFC Vegas 57 on Saturday, with weigh-ins for the event coming on Friday morning. Two fast-rising up-and-comers in the lightweight division, Gamrot was a former KSW double-champ, while Tsarukyan had not lost a fight since his promotional debut — against Islam Makhachev.
In short, the pair were looked at as potential future contenders, and after Saturday, there was a good chance the winner would take a giant leap up the 155 pound rankings.
Also on Saturday’s card, “Action Man” Chris Curtis, ex-stripper turned Joe Rogan’s momentary bride Vanessa Demopoulos, Khabib’s cousin Umar, Izzy’s pal Ulberg, the undefeated Shavkat Rakhmonov, and more. Plenty of reasons to tune in, in other words.
