UFC Vegas 56: Movsar Evloev Hopes the Casual MMA Fan Knows Who He Is After Ige Fight

Las Vegas, NV — If you’re a hardcore MMA fan, you know how good undefeated featherweight Movsar Evloev is. He hopes with a dominant win over Dan Ige, the casual fan will likewise know who he is.

Five fights into his UFC career, and Evloev has nabbed a co-main event. He faces off against the always tough Ige at UFC Vegas 56 this Saturday.

While he is thankful for the co-main event spotlight, Evloev is already looking into the future.

“Co-main event is good, but my plan is main event next time and maybe after, you know, title fight,” Evloev told Cageside Press during his UFC Vegas 56 media day appearance.

The undefeated fighter from Russia has been very underrated and overlooked by fans since his signing in 2019. The hardcore MMA fans know how high his ceiling is, but there is still a portion of the casual fans who don’t really know who he is.

The 28-year-old hopes to change that after Saturday.

“I hope so. I need to show my best version for this. And prove it to everybody [that I am a] real contender for the title fight,” Evloev said.

If Evloev goes out and finishes Ige, something that no one has been able to do thus far, heads will turn. He predicts his first UFC finish.

“He is good. [His] wrestling, cardio, boxing is pretty good, but I think I’m better, and I will prove it this fight and finish this guy,” Evloev said. “My plan is to finish this guy first round. I don’t need three rounds.”
