After a fight between the two twice fell through previously, Bobby Green vs. Jim Miller is back on the schedule.
Lightweights Green (29-13-1) and Miller (34-16, 1NC) will face off at UFC 276 on July 2, 2022. News of the match-up was announced by Iridium Sports Agency, who represent Green.
Green and Miller were first booked to face each other in 2014, then again last year. In both cases, Green was forced out of the fight due to medical concerns.
It’s been quite the year for Bobby Green thus far. At UFC 271 on February 12, Green put on an impressive performance against Nasrat Haqparast, winning a unanimous decision following three rounds. Two weeks later, he returned to action on short notice, taking on Islam Makhachev atop UFC Vegas 49.
It was Green’s first headlining gig in the UFC. And while it didn’t go his way, Green’s willingness to take on one of the most intimidating fighters in the division with next to no preparation was another example of why he’s become a fan favorite.
Miller, the UFC’s most experienced fighter, will be entering fight #40 for the company — a major, record-setting milestone. 37 of 39 fights to date have come at lightweight; Miller has won his last two fights there. While well-known for his submission skill, his hands have been getting it done for Miller of late, with a knockout of Erick Gonzalez and a TKO against Nikolas Motta.
