Las Vegas, NV – The main event of UFC Vegas 52 brought together two of the best at strawweight as #9 contender Amanda Lemos met former champion Jessica Andrade on Saturday night.

Lemos (11-1-1) came into the UFC APEX riding a 5-fight win streak with notable wins over Montserrat Ruiz and Angela Hill in her last two bouts. She looked to continue her rise and earn a shot at the title.

Andrade (22-9) the former strawweight champion entered the bout after defeating Cynthia Calvillo via TKO at UFC 266.

Would the experienced former champion make a triumphant return to 115-pounds or would the contender on a streak make take another step towards the belt?

First round kicked off with a conservative approach from Andrade. She threw leg kicks trying to force Lemos to fire first. Lemos fired off leg kick attacks that left Andrade’s left leg visibly red.

Suddenly Andrade charged forward and grabbed a standing arm triangle that was tight from the second she got it! Lemos attempted to defend but Andrade’s strength made it too hard to get out and forces Lemos to tap.

The first standing arm triangle finish in UFC history! Andrade made a huge statement in her quest to return to the title.

Official Result: Jessica Andrade def. Amanda Lemos via submission (Standing Arm Triangle), Round 1, 3:13
