Molly McCann may not be the best-known fighter in the UFC women’s flyweight division, but the Liverpool native certainly had the crowd behind her all through Fight Week ahead of UFC London.

Paired up with Brazil’s Luana Carolina, McCann looked to secure her second straight victory inside the octagon, while Carolina was in search of her third.

If you expected a boring fight you tuned into the wrong girl. Molly McCann came out with all of the energy you expect of her. McCann put Carolina on the back foot and lands on her at will. She hurt Carolina and went off landing to the body to open up the head for strikes. Carolina managed to survive, but was hurt again near the end of the round bringing another blitz from Molly. McCann ended the round literally dancing.

Round two was way more calm and calculated from McCann but not boring. She goes after Carolina, punching her way to a takedown and then dominant positions as she looked for the opening for the mount. McCann seemed to pass on arm bar attempts multiple times. After allowing Carolina to stand up McCann seemed to get herself into some trouble allowing Carolina to clinch with her and land elbows from top. As the round went on Carolina showed a lot more confidence in her strikes. Near the end of the round McCann was able to secure another takedown.

Round three Carolina came out with a lot of confidence throwing strikes and smiling at McCann. They clinched and Carolina was able to land on McCann in close before getting reversed and eating knees. McCann was able to break away and land on Luana who welcomed the attack. A massive spinning elbow from McCann landed clean on Carolina ending the Brazilian’s night! McCann jumped the cage and grabbed a belt from a UFC fan and paraded it around the octagon.
