KSW 67 brought with it the return of heavyweight champion Phil De Fries on Saturday, looking to make his sixth consecutive title defense.
The resurgence of De Fries, a former UFC fighter who had struggled with anxiety earlier in his career run, was nothing short of remarkable. After posting a 2-3 record inside the octagon, the British heavyweight floundered on the regional scene, before kicking off an eight-fight winning streak in M-1, Bellator, and finally KSW. Along the way, he dispatched UFC alum Luis Henrique, Pride vet James Thompson, and twice defeated KSW light heavyweight champ Tomasz Narkun.
At KSW 67, De Fries was up against the surging Darko Stosic, a fellow UFC ex-pat on a three fight win streak under the KSW banner. The Serbian had competed at light heavyweight while testing the waters inside the octagon, but appeared more comfortable as a heavyweight, where he had competed prior to his UFC stint.
KSW 67 takes place in Warsaw, Poland at the Global EXPO on Saturday, February 26, 2022. The event streams live via KSWTV.com. Results can be found below.
