Lovers of standup violence had the opportunity to rejoice as Bare Knuckle FC brought KnuckleMania 2 to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida on Saturday night.
While BKFC cards have always felt a little like the black sheep of the combat sports family, there were some interesting match-ups, and the usual guilty pleasure feel to BKFC’s latest offering. In the main event, for some baffling reason positioned above multiple title fights (at least on the marquee, the bout order appeared to be flipped later), were UFC veteran Mike Perry and infamous Ultimate Fighter alum Julian Lane (Let me Bang, Bro TM). The promotion could very well have marketed this as the “TMF” title fight (“Trashiest MF’er”), but at least you knew these two would go out guns blazing.
On the more sporting side of things, Luis Palomino put his lightweight championship on the line against Martin Brown, and Britain Hart-Beltran took part in the inaugural women’s flyweight championship fight against Christine Ferea.
With bare knuckle boxing essentially piggybacking on MMA, it was no surprise to see another UFC star making their debut at KnuckleMania 2. In this case, it was former featherweight title challenger Chad “Money” Mendes, in a blatant mismatch against Joshuah “Famez” Alvarez, whose 1-1 record saw a six year gap between fights.
BKFC KnuckleMania 2 takes place Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Full results from the event, available on the BKFC App and Fite.tv, can be found below. The preliminary card kicks off at 6:30 PM ET.
