UFC welterweight and “BMF” champion Jorge Masvidal is going full-tilt into the promotion game these days. Aside from Gamebred FC, his bare-knuckle MMA outfit, Masvidal — who will headline UFC 272 in March — has also loaned his name and likeness to iKon FC, a regional MMA outfit who previously were best known for having Frank Mir’s daughter fight on a card.
Then known as iKon Fighting Federation, the rebranded iKon FC debuted Friday, January 21, 2022 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in Palm Beach, FL. All the action from iKon FC 1 streamed live on UFC Fight Pass.
In the main event, former UFC welterweight Jared Gooden, who went 1-3 through his four fights inside the octagon, looked to get back in the win column against Aaron Highbaugh. Gooden was coming off a loss to Randy Brown that had brought his UFC run to an end.
