After what seems like an eternity, MMA is back in full swing this week, with Invicta FC 45 kicking things off on Wednesday night.

Weigh-ins for the event took place Tuesday in Kansas City, and two fighters from the six-fight card missed the mark. Fighting in the evening’s co-main event, Shamir Peshewa came in heavy for a 150lb catchweight, hitting the scales at 153.4lbs. Peshewa stepped into the fight on short notice, replacing featherweight Courtney King against Ramona Pascual.

The second fighter to miss the mark for Wednesday’s card was Maria Favela, who was 2.4lbs over the bantamweight limit for her fight with Sarah Kleczka.

The main event atomweight fight, however, is official, with both fighters making championship weight. Champ Alesha Zappitella will be defending her title for the second time against Jessica Delboni atop Invicta FC 45. The pair first met last May, with Zappitella winning a split decision.

While the champion has not fought since, Delboni would win Invicta’s one-night Phoenix Series atomweight tournament in June, earning herself the rematch with Zappitella in the process.
