A flyweight grudge match will be settled in the Octagon as Mariya Agapova is set to take on Maryna Moroz at UFC 272 on March 5.

A flyweight bout for UFC 272 has been reported as Mariya Agapova will be taking on Maryna Moroz on March 5.  Brazilian outlet Combate was first to report the news.

Agapova (10-2) had called out Moroz in her post-fight scrum with the media last time out, stating that Moroz had tried to destroy her career.  A part of the UFC since 2020, Agapova is an Invicta veteran who holds wins over Hannah Cifers and former LFA champion Sabina Mazo.  She also faced current standout Tracy Cortez on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2019.

Moroz (10-3) has struggled to get back in the cage after withdrawing from four consecutive bouts in the past two years.  Her last bout was in March of 2020 where she defeated Mayra Bueno Silva and before that had notched her own victory over Mazo.  Moroz responded to Agapova’s comments, saying that she had been ousted from American Top Team due to making threats against teammates and using drugs. Agapova’s manager later responded, denying those claims.

No location or headliner for UFC 272 has been announced as of yet, though it is expected that the card will take place in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena.
