In just her second fight since returning from retirement earlier this year, Miesha Tate pulls headlining duty at UFC Vegas 43.
The former women’s bantamweight champion in both Strikeforce and the UFC meets Ketlen Vieira atop this Saturday’s Fight Night card. The outcome of the fight could have a ripple effect in the 135lb weight class, which has been all but cleaned out by champion Amanda Nunes. Even time away defending her featherweight title (and for the birth of her child with wife Nina Nunes) doesn’t seem to have helped the depth of contenders in the division.
Which means a win for Tate, or alternately Vieira, could mean a quick ascent to a title shot.
