The original Ultimate Fighter Season 29 middleweight finale has been rebooked for February.
MMA Junkie was the first to report the news that Ultimate Fighter season 29 middleweight winner Bryan Battle has been rebooked against his original opponent Tresean Gore on February 5 at a yet-to-be-announced UFC event. The pair were supposed to fight on August 28 at the TUF finals; however, Gore injured his knee and had to pull out.
Battle (6-1) became the Ultimate Fighter when he defeated Gilbert Urbina in August via a rear-naked choke. “Pooh Bear” is riding a five-fight win streak. Battle beat Kemran Lachinov in the Quarter-finals and then submitted Andre Petroski via guillotine choke on the show.
Gore (3-0) defeated Ryder Newman in the Quarter-finals, and then in the Semi-Finals, he knocked out Gilbert Urbina. “Mr. Vicious” has finished two of his three opponents.
No location, venue, or broadcast plan has been officially announced for the February 5 event. No main event has been reported. The UFC’s February 5 Fight Night card currently breaks down as follows:
- Marc-André Barriault vs. Chidi Njokuani
- Jason Witt vs. Phil Rowe
- Miles Johns vs. John Castaneda
- Steven Peterson vs. Julian Erosa
- Ian Heinisch vs. Sam Alvey
