December’s UFC 269 is continuing to grow, as the already stacked final Pay-Per-View of 2021 has added an exciting featherweight contest.
The latest fight booked for the PPV event will see Hawaii’s Dan Ige (15-4) take on the returning Josh Emmett (16-2). BJPenn.com was first to report the news, after Ige and Emmett both teased a fight at the event on social media.
Ige has had quite the run of late, finally breaking into the main event picture care of a six-fight win streak from 2018 to 2020. That string of victories earned him a main event showdown with Calvin Kattar on Fight Island in July of 2020. Ige would lose the fight, but bounced back in March of this year care of a 22-second knockout of Gavin Tucker.
In his most recent outing, another main event, Ige came up short against The Korean Zombie.
Josh Emmett will be returning to action after more than a year on the shelf at UFC 269. The hard-hitting 145lb’er has won three straight, but tore his ACL in his June 2020 win over Shane Burgos.
UFC 269 will take place on December 11, 2021 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV. The card is headlined by a lightweight title fight between Charles Oliveira and Dustin Poirier. Amanda Nunes will also put her bantamweight title on the line against Julianna Pena.
