Mariya Agapova has a name locked and loaded for her next fight, and she wants to punish her.

The last time the Agapova (10-2) was in the octagon, she was on the receiving end of one of the biggest upsets in UFC history. Well, Kazakhstani fighter got back into the win column at UFC Vegas 39 when she submitted Sabina Mazo in the second round.

After the fight, during her in cage post-fight interview, Agapova had a name ready to go when asked who she wanted next.

“I would like to call Maryna Moroz because she talked sh*t in an interview about me. Make sure you find someone else because I’m sure she’d get scared of this fight,” Agapova told Paul Felder.

Agapova was referring to an interview that Moroz gave with Russian media outlet MMA Herald. Moroz claimed Agapova crashed her car while on drugs, got kicked out of two gyms, and stalked a pregnant woman, among other things.

Agapova’s manager Alex Davis refuted the claims in an interview with MMA Fighting. “Mariya went through some difficult moments. She was all alone, but now she’s been through therapy, she’s much better, and she’s already training for a fight. It had nothing to do with drugs. Absolutely nothing,” Davis said.

As you may assume, there is some heat between Agapova and Moroz. During her post-fight interview with the media, Agapova would elaborate on why she wants to fight Moroz and said she wants to punish her.

“She is jealous; she is sneaky. She wants to destroy my career. I lost sponsorships because of her interview and got into really big trouble. I would like to punish this b*tch because she is trying to destroy my career. I want to smash her,” Agaopova said.

Agapova revealed her side of the story and also that she and Moroz were once teammates.

“We were training together; we were teammates. After I left, she started lying and talking shit about me. I lost a lot of sponsorships, lost fans. That was not nice. That was super sneaky. I left not because I was a drug addict and threatening someone with a knife; I left because I just had an argument with some guy. She just talked shit about me. She’s a liar. She also cheated my manager out of money…She is not a good person. I would like to beat her ass and smash her face.”

Moroz has not been in action since her win at UFC Fight Night: Lee vs. Oliveira against Mayra Bueno Silva in March 2020. She has pulled out of four scheduled fights since.

There is no doubt that a fight between Agapova and Moroz would be fun, especially with all of this extra heat.
