Former UFC flyweight and RIZIN Fighting Federation athlete Jarred Brooks will return to action for the first time since 2019 atop ONE: NEXTGEN III.
Brooks (16-2, 1NC) is set to take on Lito Adiwang (13-3) in the card’s strawweight main event. While NEXTGEN III is set to air on November 26, the fight will take place later this month, as part of ONE Championship’s October 29 NEXTGEN card.
Brooks and Adiwang were originally set to face off earlier this year, as part of April’s ONE on TNT 2 card.
Lito Adiwang enters the ONE: NEXTGEN III main event on a two fight win streak, with victories over Namiki Kawahara and Hexigetu Hexi. He has posted a 7-1 record between ONE Warrior Series and ONE Championship proper, with his only loss in that span coming to Hiroba Minowa last year.
Jarred Brooks has not competed since the co-promoted Bellator/RIZIN card on December 29, 2019. That saw him secure his second straight victory, a unanimous decision win over Haruo Ochi.
Brooks was released by the UFC in 2018, despite the fact that he was coming off a win over Roberto Sanchez. At the time, the promotion was looking to eliminate its flyweight division entirely, though they would eventually change course on that decision.
In addition to Brooks vs. Adiwang, ONE: NEXTGEN III will see former ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Alaverdi Ramazanov return in a Muay Thai contest opposite Pongsiri PK.Saenchai Muaythaigym.
