Honorable Mentions: Jessiva Andrade vs Cynthia Calvillo

Jessica “Bate Estaca” Andrade (21-9 MMA, 12-7 UFC)

Strawweight (115lbs): 7-3 (UFC), Former UFC Champion

Flyweight (125lbs):  1-1 (UFC), Former UFC Flyweight Title Challenger

Bantamweight (135lbs): 4-2 (UFC)

With the exception of featherweight, Jessica Andrade has fought in every weight class the UFC has to offer for women. Andrade started her career in the Ultimate Fighting Championship at bantamweight, but later dropped to strawweight — where she would capture the title care of a slam KO against Rose Namajunas.

After losing the belt to Weili Zhang in her very next fight, then losing to Namajunas in a rematch, Andrade moved up to 125lbs, picking up a dominant win over Katlyn Chookagian before being handled by established champ Valentina Shevchenko.

It’s flyweight once again for Andrade on Saturday.

Cynthia Calvillo (9-2-1 MMA, 6-2-1 UFC)

Strawweight (115lbs.): 5-1-1 (UFC), Missed weight 2x

Flyweight (125lbs.): 1-1 (UFC)

Andrade’s opponent, Cynthia Calvillo, is another beneficiary of a change in weight class. Calvillo struggled during her time as a strawweight, missing weight twice. Despite finding considerable success in the division, misses at the scales took her right out of the title picture.

As a flyweight, Calvillo is 1-1, but if she can get past the always dangerous Andrade, she could find herself right in the mix given Valentina Shevchenko has all but cleaned out the weight class.
