Matt Brown seemingly is immortal at this point, with the 40-year old welterweight showing no sign of slowing down.

Brown (23-18) is set to return for the third time in 2021 as part of the UFC’s December 4 card. As first reported by MMA DNA, he’ll be taking on Bryan Barberena (15-8) at the Fight Night event.

Brown has gone 1-1 so far this year, losing a decision to Carlos Condit back in January on Fight Island, then picking up a knockout of Dhiego Lima at UFC Vegas 29 in June. “The Immortal” is 3-2 in his last five fights, dating back to 2017. His output was slowed during that time by an ACL tear requiring surgery, but since returning to the octagon in December 2019, Brown has kept up a busy pace.

Bryan Barberena is just 1-3 in his last four fights, but that record is deserving of an asterisk. Two of those losses came in Fight of the Night efforts, against Vicente Luque and Jason Witt, respectively. The Witt fight, Barberena’s most recent, ended in a majority decision defeat for “Bam Bam.”

The UFC’s December 4 card does not have an official location, venue, or broadcast plan announced. The UFC Apex in Las Vegas remains the most likely destination, however. Thus far, the following bouts have been reported for the event:

Chris Gruetzemacher vs. Claudio Puelles
Rafael Fiziev vs. Brad Riddell
Jimmy Crute vs. Jamahal Hill
Montserrat Ruiz vs. Mallory Martin
Brendan Allen vs. Brad Tavares
