A pair of bantamweight knockout artists will collide at a UFC event in November.
ESPN was first to report that fan-favorite Adrian Yanez will fight Davey Grant on November 20 at a yet-to-be-announced UFC event. Both fighters would confirm the booking on social media.
Yanez (14-3) has been on absolute fire since winning his UFC contract last year. He is riding a seven-fight win streak, with six of those being knockouts and is 3-0 in the UFC with three knockouts there. Yanez knocked out Victor Rodriguez in his UFC debut, Gustavo Lopez to kick off his 2021, and in his most recent fight, he finished Randy Costa in the second round. A win over Davey Grant in November will most likely set him up with a ranked opponent.
Grant (11-5) had his three-fight win streak snapped in June when he lost a unanimous decision to Marlon Vera, which ended up being Fight of the Night. Before that, he knocked out Martin Day in his only 2020 fight and then knocked out Jonathan Martinez in March.
No location, venue, or broadcast plan has been announced for the November 20 event, but promotion President Dana White said that all Fight Nights will be staying at the Apex in Las Vegas, NV.
So far, the November 20 card looks like this.
- Cody Durden vs. Aoriqileng
- Alexa Grasso vs. Joanne
- Cheyanne Buys vs. Loma Lookboonmee
- Terrance McKinney vs. Fares Ziam
- Michael Chiesa vs. Sean Brady
- Rafa Garcia vs. Natan Levy
- Marcin Prachnio vs. Azamat Murzakanov
- Davey Grant vs. Adrian Yanez
