After a lengthy layoff (by her standards), Canadian flyweight Gillian Robertson will get back inside the octagon this December.
Robertson will face Brazil’s Priscila Cachoeira at a UFC event planned for Saturday, December 11. A source familiar with the situation confirmed the fight to Cageside Press, following an initial report by Ag Fight.
“The Savage” will enter December’s 125lb fight on the first losing streak of her career. In her last two bouts, Robertson (9-6) has dropped unanimous decisions to Taila Santos and Miranda Maverick. Prior to those setbacks, however, the Niagara Falls native had won four of her past five bouts.
After starting her UFC career on an 0-3 skid including a lopsided loss to future champion Valentina Shevchenko, Cachoeira (10-3) has turned things around of late. She has put together back-to-back wins over Shana Dobson and Gina Mazany in her last two outings. Both victories came by way of KO/TKO finishes; the Dobson knockout earned Cachoeira her first Performance of the Night bonus.
To date, the December 11 card has just one other fight reported for it. That bout has former bantamweight champ Cody Garbrandt taking on Kai Kara-France in a flyweight fight. That will mark Garbrandt’s professional debut in the 125lb weight class.
