UFC Vegas 33: Niklas Stolze Wants To Reintroduce Himself To American UFC Fans

Las Vegas, NV – Germany, and other European countries might know Niklas Stolze, but he wants to reintroduce himself to the American audience.

Stolze was initially booked against Mounir Lazzez, but unfortunately, due to Visa issues, the fight was scrapped. “Greenmask” was going to stay on UFC Vegas 33 no matter what, and that’s what he did. Stepping in on less than a week’s notice is Jared Gooden. Another bummer for the German fighter was moving from the co-main event, but he is still excited to be on the main card.

“I’m really excited and really thankful for that. They lifted us shortly to the co-main event, you know, and then the UFC found out that Mounir was not coming to the US because of Visa issues. The main card is amazing. It’s a big opportunity, you know, and I’m really looking forward to this,” Stolze told Cageside Press and other media members during media day.

While he didn’t have the UFC debut he had hoped for, he wants to reintroduce himself to the American audience.

“100%, I mean the US people might not know me yet. So, you know, I fought a Russian guy on ‘Fight Island,’ so maybe the Russian fans know me. The Europeans know me, but I have to reintroduce [myself] to the UFC, and I’m going to do that during this fight,” Stolze said.
