ONE Championship returned to action Friday with Battleground, going down live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore.
After several weeks on hiatus, the promotion had a Muay Thai title fight in the evening’s main event, featuring strawweight champ Sam-A Gaiyanghadao putting his belt on the line against Prajanchai PK.Saenchai Muaythaigym.
Prior to that all-Thailand affair, former middleweight and light heavyweight champ Aung La N Sang returned to action. “The Burmese Python,” one of the promotion’s biggest stars, was coming off a rough couple of fights, having lost both of his titles to the same man, Reinier de Ridder.
Looking to work his way back to title contention, Myanmar’s N Sang was paired up with Brazilian Leandro Ataides, in what many looked at as a number one contender’s bout. Whether that was the case remained to be seen, as Ataides as well had previously fallen to de Ridder.
Kicking off the card, meanwhile, was teenager Victoria Lee, looking to pick up her second win, against China’s Wang Lu Ping.
