UFC 263’s Movsar Evloev Says Striking Better Than Dawodu’s: “I Know It”

Phoenix, AZ — Movsar Evloev is undefeated in the UFC, undefeated in his mixed martial arts career, and very happy with the match-up ahead of him at UFC 263 this Saturday.

Evloev (14-0) faces Canadian Hakeem Dawodu, who he looks at as another stop on his journey up the featherweight ladder.

“Just a next step for me. I need to defeat him,” said Evloev during the UFC 263 media day this week. The Russian fighter was also predicting a finish. “We will see. But he’s a good striker, good wrestling defense. But he don’t meet a fighter like me before.”

Both fighters being ranked has upped the ante for this fight in Evloev’s view. “It’s a big moment, because now I’m top 15. My opponent is top 15. I see a good chance for me, and I will take this. I need to do a good fight to call somebody out. I’m ready to defeat everyone in my division. I will be champion. You will see.”

And when it comes to the stand-up between the pair? “I think my striking’s much better,” Evloev stated. Then, sounding even more confident, he added “I know it.”

The undefeated fighter also feels he has the edge in the wrestling department. “He can’t defend my wrestling. I’ve been preparing many things for this opponent. I think it’s going to be very nice.”
