A pair of welterweights on the rebound will collide when Mickey Gall meets Jordan Willams at the UFC’s July 24 event later this summer.

Williams and Gall both confirmed the booking on social media on Tuesday, following an initial report from MMA Fighting. The fight sees both men looking for a change of fortune after stumbles in 2020.

For Gall, who in 2016 was the winner of the CM Punk sweepstakes, that stumble came against Mike Perry. Trading wins and losses of the past couple of years, Gall wound up losing a unanimous decision to Perry last June at UFC on ESPN 12.

Williams is in a similar situation, having lost his most recent, and first, bout inside the octagon against Nassourdine Imavov. The October fight resulted in a unanimous decision against Williams, who won his way into the UFC on Dana White’s Contender Series.

Competing at middleweight for the Contender Series and his UFC debut, Williams will be returning to 170lbs against Gall. A collegiate wrestler, Williams is also known as a rare combat sports athlete suffering from Type 1 diabetes — proving a whole lot of doctors wrong by finding success at the highest level.

The UFC’s July 24 card does not yet have a location, venue, or broadcast plans announced. The following bouts have been reported for the card:

Aspen Ladd vs. Macy Chiasson
Maycee Barber vs. Miranda Maverick
Trevin Jones vs. Tony Kelley
Raphael Assunção vs. Kyler Phillips
Randy Costa vs. Adrian Yanez
