Cage Fury FC was in action on Friday for the second night in a row with CFFC 93. Headlined by a middleweight title fight, and featuring two belts on the line, the event had more than a few compelling bouts.

In the main event, Collin Huckbody was set to defend his middleweight title against Canadian prospect Aaron Jeffery. Both men were veterans of Dana White’s Contender Series. But where Jeffery had come up short on the show, Huckbody had actually won himself a UFC contract last season. Only, incredibly, to ask to be released from his contract, saying he wasn’t ready for the big stage.

Huckbody had claimed CFFC gold his very next fight, and was making his first title defense Friday. Jeffery, meanwhile, had won three straight since losing on DWCS, and was hoping gold would lead him back to a shot at the UFC.

Also in action at CFFC 93, Jeffery’s teammate Jasmine Jasudavicius, fresh off a strawweight title fight loss — the first defeat of her career. She was moving back to flyweight to take on Ashley Deen.

In the co-main event, heavyweight gold was up for grabs with Jamelle Jones taking on Cody Goodale for the vacant belt.
