This Month’s UFC on ESPN 21 card has lost its co-main event due to COVID-19.
According to both Paul Craig and Jamahal Hill’s social media, their fight, which was supposed to happen next week (March 20) at UFC Vegas 22, as the event is otherwise known, is postponed.
Hill announced on his Twitter on March 2 that he had tested positive for COVID-19.
“So just an update Sweet Dreams Nation I have tested positive for covid!!! I am having some symptoms but with the fight 18 days away we will see how I feel in the coming days my hope is I feel better and am able to still fight March 20th but health is most important!!!”
The fight seemed to be on track to continue until both fighters took to their social media and said the fight has been postponed to another date, which hasn’t been reported as of yet.
Hill explained on his Instagram story that he is suffering from complications due to COVID.
“I contracted COVID a little over week ago, and it’s not going fu**ing good for me. I started out with a fever and I’ve been dealing with all sorts of symptoms since then, including chest tightness, chest congestion, my breathing is off, and even as recently as yesterday I was coughing up blood. I spit some mucus out and there was blood inside of it. So f**k what anybody talking about. My health is in question. When my health is in question, that’s going to get my undivided attention.”
Everyone here at Cageside Press wishes Jamahal Hill a speedy recovery.
