A pair of UFC light heavyweights will collide in April.
According to SPOTV, South Korean Da Un Jung will fight Russia’s Shamil Gamzatov on April 10, which looks like Darren Till vs. Marvin Vettori will be headlining. Jung confirmed the news on social media after the initial report.
Jung (13-2-1) had his seven-fight finish streak snapped when he went to a draw with Sam Alvey last year at UFC 254 on ‘Fight Island.’ Most would say Jung escaped with a draw as many media members gave the fight to Alvey. Before his fight with Alvey, he had submitted Khadis Ibragimov in August of 2019 and then knocked Mike Rodriguez out in the first round in his home country.
Gamzatov (14-0) has not fought since his UFC debut in November 2019, where he defeated Klidson Abreu via a split decision in Moscow, Russia. Gamazatov has tried to fight, but travel restrictions due to COVID-19 and via issues have held him out of action. Here’s hoping that he will have a more active 2021.
With the addition of Jung vs. Gamzatov, the April 10 card now looks like this:
Darren Till vs. Marvin Vettori
Nina Ansaroff vs. Mackenzie Dern
Jarjis Danho vs. Yorgan De Castro
Bea Malecki vs. Norma Dumont Viana
John Makdessi vs. Ignacio Bahamondes
Zak Cummings vs. Sam Alvey
Kyle Daukaus vs. Aliskhab Khizriev
Jordan Griffin vs. Luis Saldana
Sodiq Yusuff vs. Arnold Allen
Jack Shore vs. Hunter Azure
Daniel Rodriguez vs. Mike Perry
