A highly ranked featherweight bout featuring Sodiq Yusuff taking on Arnold Allen is in the works for the UFC card on April 10.
News of the fight was first reported by MMAJunkie. While a location or venue has yet to be determined, the two athletes have come to a verbal agreement so contracts are expected to be signed shortly.
With only one loss on his record, Yusuff (11-1) remains a top prospect at 145lbs. In addition, the 27-year old featherweight has faced stiff competition since entering the UFC in 2018. Once highlighted on Dana White’s Contender Series, Yusuff is now on a six-fight win streak against credible opponents. Among those victories are wins over Gabriel Benítez and Andre Fili, just to name a few. Without a doubt, Yusuff is leaving his mark inside the UFC. The Nigerian-American Yusuff and Arnold Allen will compete after similar layoffs through the last year.
Allen (16-1) was booked to fight Jeremy Stephens last November but the bout was canceled due to Stephens pulling out with an injury. Prior to the misfortune, England’s Allen picked up some steam inside the octagon and also only has one loss on his record. Despite riding a nine-fight win-streak, Allen has struggled to find an opponent during the COVID-19 era. That of course changes come April 10.
With the addition of Sodiq Yusuff vs. Arnold Allen, here is the current line-up for the UFC Fight Night card on April 10:
- Darren Till vs. Marvin Vettori
- Nina Ansaroff vs. Mackenzie Dern
- Jarjis Danho vs. Yorgan De Castro
- Ignacio Bahamondes vs. John Makdessi
- Norma Dumont vs. Bea Malecki
- Sam Alvey vs. Zak Cummings
