Spike “The Alpha Ginger” Carlyle (9-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC)
Featherweight (145lbs): 1-0 (UFC), 1-1 (MMA)
Catchweight (150lbs): 0-1 (UFC), 2-0 (MMA)
Lightweight (155lbs): 4-0 (MMA)
Spike Carlyle stands at just 5’8″ tall with a 71″ reach but is a very large featherweight that carries a lot of muscle. Spike’s size and low center gravity really play into just how powerful of a striker he is. The 27-year-old successfully made his UFC debut in the featherweight division against Aalon Cruz, and fought in two other featherweight fights outside of the UFC in early 2018.
However, the majority of Spike’s professional MMA fights have been at lightweight. In Carlyle’s most recent fight he lost to Billy Quarantillo in a catchweight bout 150lbs, courtesy of the bout being pulled together very close to the card. That was The Alpha Ginger’s first loss in the UFC. On November 27 fight fans will get to see him cut down to the featherweight division again ahead of his bout the next day against Bill Algeo.
