Bellator MMA returned to action Saturday night at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with the second of two back-to-back cards. Bellator 246 was set to crown a new bantamweight champ for the promotion, with Juan Archuleta and Patrick Mix vying for the organization’s vacant 135lb title.
Also featured on the card, the debut of Liz Carmouche, a former two-time UFC title challenger ready to take on Invicta and TUF alum DeAnna Bennett. And in the co-main event, a grappling showdown between former WSOF/PFL champ Jon Fitch, and BJJ ace Neiman Gracie.
Before any of that could go down, however, there were some preliminary card bouts to start things off. Leading the way in that regard was heavyweight Ras Hylton, fighting for the second time in roughly a month and a half. Hylton was looking to fight his way into a long-term deal with Bellator, after winning his first fight in the company against Rudy Schaffroth at Bellator 242.
A second win over Jackson-Wink MMA product Davion Franklin could potentially seal the deal at Bellator 246.
Preliminary card action kicks off at 8:45PM ET. Check back then for full results. The official live stream is available via Youtube (embed above).
