UFC Fight Island 2: Ariane Lipski Feels Striking, Heart Earned Her New UFC Deal

Ariane Lipski has been training for a fight since February. “The Violence Queen” was originally scheduled to face opponent Luana Carolina in May. When the coronavirus pandemic hit, that was pushed back to June. Now, she’ll step into the octagon this weekend as part of UFC Fight Island 2.

There was no sadness over the delay on Lipski’s part, however. “I was excited to show how much I’ve improved my game,” she told Cageside Press during the event’s media day on Thursday.

Lipski (12-5), a former KSW champion, recently signed a new contract with the UFC. Something she attributes to people liking her style — striking heavy — and other, more intangible factors. “I fight with my heart and everybody knows, everybody can see that when it’s real,” she said. “And I think is for that the UFC can recognize our job. It’s because it’s real, it’s because I fight with my heart. I feel very happy for that, and now I’ll fight with no pressure.”

As to how she gets the job done against Carolina this weekend, “every day, every night, every moment, I can see me winning this fight by KO,” Lipski said. “I really want this, I will try this. Maybe it can happen by submission because I improved my MMA game a lot, but if it doesn’t happen I don’t care. I will be prepared to show how much I have improved, I will fight with my heart. I will push hard [from] the beginning to the end.”
