No, you aren’t dreaming. It has been but a few days, yet the UFC is back in action. It’s a rare Wednesday night fight card, in response to the promotion trying to ramp things up in their return this week. The coronavirus may have scored the knockdown, but the UFC is determined to come out on top.
The wisdom of battling a pandemic, and battling in a pandemic, remains to be seen. But fight fans were simply happy for action on Saturday at UFC 249, which boasted a fantastic main event between Justin Gaethje and Tony Ferguson.
Wednesday, at the same (empty) venue, the Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida, the octagon would host action again. This time, for a Fight Night card topped by light heavyweight standouts Anthony Smith and Glover Teixeira.
The meant weigh-ins on Tuesday. Check back Tuesday morning (starting at 9AM ET) for the results.
Only one fighter missed the mark on Tuesday – Karl Roberson, who did not make a second attempt. He came in 1.5lbs over the middleweight limit.
