Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone (36-14 MMA, 23-11 UFC)
Lightweight (155lbs): 17-6 (UFC), UFC Lightweight Title Challenger
Welterweight (170lbs): 6-5 (UFC)
Cowboy is back for another fight in 2020 and looking to bounce back from his loss against Conor McGregor during the first UFC pay-per-view event of the new decade. Once upon a time, Cerrone was absolutely a title contender in the UFC’s lightweight division but now at 37 years old has a much harder cut down to 155lbs. Interestingly enough Cowboy’s fight with Anthony Pettis will be a rematch of their bout at lightweight back in 2013. Cowboy lost the first meeting between the two after being TKO’d with body shots.
Donald has made a home for himself in the welterweight division, and is now an 11 fight vet at 170lbs. But he’s also one loss away from a .500 stint at the weight. Cowboy has fought some of the biggest names in the sport in the last couple of years. Without an excessive weight cut that makes him more susceptible to damage, it should be interesting to see how Cowboy fares against Showtime at UFC 249.
