Ketlen Vieira and Marion Reneau are set to collide at UFC 250 in May, per a new report.
Brazil’s Ketlen Vieira will look to bounce back from the first loss of her career when she appears at UFC 250 later this year. As first reported by MMA Junkie, Vieira (10-1) will face Marion Reneau (9-5-1) at the event this May.
Reneau recently announced that she had fight news coming. Turns out, it’s against Vieira, a woman 14 years her junior.
At 42-years-old, Reneau is the oldest active female on the UFC roster. While she defied father time with wins over Talita Bernardo and Sara McMann, she’s come up short in her last two fights, suffering defeats to Cat Zingano and Yana Kunitskaya. Overall, Reneau is 4-4-1 inside the octagon.
Now in her prime at 28, Vieira had been considered a top contender in the women’s bantamweight division before falling to Irene Aldana at UFC 245. That knockout loss took some of the wind out of her sales in the weight class, but a couple of victories should bring her right back up to the top. Prior to that loss, Vieira had wins over the likes of Sara McMann and Cat Zingano, both title challengers in the Ronda Rousey era.
Vieira is currently ranked 7th at 135lbs in the UFC’s official rankings. Reneau sits at 9th.
UFC 250 is set to take place May 9, 2020 at the Ginásio do Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
