Geoff Neal became the first man to stop Mike Perry Saturday night at UFC 245, and it took him less than two minutes to do so.
In a promising welterweight scrap on the UFC 245 televised preliminary card on Saturday, ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry threw down with the surging Geoff Neal. Neal had won four straight in the octagon, and had yet to taste defeat under the UFC banner. Perry, meanwhile, was looking to bounce back from a bloody loss to Vicente Luque earlier this year.
Perry opened up the action with a kick, while Neal stayed on the outside. Both men were light on their feet, almost mirror images of each other. Perry threw in some kicks. It was Neal, however who connected with a left head kick, stunning Perry. A follow-up kick landed to the body. Neal then went on the hunt, trapping Perry against the cage. A flurry of left and rights followed. Perry was covering up, went down, and the ref quickly moved in to make the save!

A huge win for Fortis MMA product Geoff Neal, his biggest name to date. That makes it five straight in the octagon for the Contender Series alum.
“Honestly I need at least two, three more fights before I can put myself up there for a belt,” a realistic Neal said post-fight. “I believe I’m close though” he added.
Official Result: Geoff Neal def. Mike Perry by TKO, Round 1, 1:30
