Tickets for the highly anticipated return of Conor McGregor, facing Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 next month, will go on sale shortly.
The eagerly-awaited return of Conor McGregor will go on sale next week, Cageside Press has learned. Tickets for UFC 246 will be available December 20, 2019, with prices ranging between $200 and $1500. The event takes place January 18, 2020 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. McGregor faces Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone in the evening’s main event.
McGregor (21-4) last fought at UFC 229 in October 2018, also in Las Vegas. Losing to lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov via fourth-round neck-crank, the fight was the culmination of a heated rivalry with ‘The Eagle’ — a rivalry which boiled over post-fight when Nurmagomedov scaled the octagon wall and flew into the stands.
The ensuing melee saw both Khabib and McGregor suspended, though McGregor faced significantly lesser penalties. However, outside the octagon, the Irish former double-champ was at the center of several scandals, including an assault in his native Ireland, and sexual assault allegations that have yet to be proven, or even see a charge laid.
Since 2016, the UFC 229 fight has been McGregor’s only bout in the octagon. In comparison, Cerrone (36–13, 1NC) has fought nine times since that year. He’ll enter UFC 246 on a two-fight losing streak, having been on the wrong side of the equation against Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje.
