Jacob Kilburn will step up on a week’s notice to face Billy Quarantillo at UFC Washington.
A replacement has been found for Contender Series alum Billy Quarantillo at UFC Washington. Originally scheduled to face Chris Fishgold in a featherweight bout, Quarantillo was left without a dance partner when the former Cage Warriors champ withdrew from the fight for unknown reasons. However, with the event just over a week away, Jacob Kilburn has stepped up to take his place.
MMA Junkie’s Nolan King was first to report the news. Kilburn later confirmed the booking on social media.
Kilburn (8-2) appeared on the Contender Series himself last year, but was submitted by Bobby Moffett. Since then, ‘The Killer,’ fighting out of Woodlawn, Tennessee, has won two straight, both by TKO. Both of those wins came under the Island Fights banner. Most recently, Kilburn stopped Javanis J Ross inside the first round at Island Fights 60 in October.
Quarantillo (12-2) won his way into the promotion on Dana White’s Contender Series earlier this year. A third-round knockout of Kamuela Kirk punched his ticket to the big show. The King of the Cage veteran will enter his UFC debut on a five fight win streak, dating back to 2016.
UFC Washington (UFC on ESPN 7) takes place December 7, 2019 at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. The card will be headlined by Alistair Overeem facing Jarzinho Rozenstruik.
